“I Didn’t Expect This
Level of Response”:
Calgary’s Mayor on a Project That Went Beyond the City
How a local initiative for Calgary residents unexpectedly drew attention across Canada
“I’ve always believed that access to opportunity shouldn’t depend on where you start. CapexVision AI was created to make modern financial tools more accessible, easier to understand, and available to everyday people — not just professionals.”
— Naheed Nenshi
Inside the studio: a conversation that went beyond Calgary
Today, Calgary’s mayor, Nahid Nenshi, joined us in the studio.
The discussion centered on
CapexVision AI, a project
originally designed as a local tool for city residents, which has
since attracted interest far beyond Calgary.
During the interview with editorial team, the mayor shared how an initiative created for one city unexpectedly became a topic of national attention.

According to Nenshi,
CapexVision AI was
developed as a practical solution for everyday people — without
complex terminology or long learning curves.
The goal was to
give Calgary residents access to modern technology that could help
them explore additional financial opportunities in a rapidly
changing economy.
“Canadians deserve transparency they can verify — numbers first, promises second.”
— Naheed Nenshi
However, shortly after launch, interest in the project began to grow much faster than anticipated. What started locally soon sparked discussions across Canada.
“I wasn’t interested in building something that felt exclusive or overly complicated. The goal was to create a system people could understand, trust, and use without pressure.”
— Naheed Nenshi, Mayor of Calgary
“We asked the direct questions.” Interview excerpt
Amanda Chapman:
Mayor, you originally introduced this project as a local initiative for Calgary residents. When did you realize interest was growing beyond the city?
Naheed Nenshi:
Honestly, I didn’t expect it. We designed the tool as a practical solution for everyday people, with a simple structure and an easy point of entry, but the response turned out to be much broader than we initially anticipated.
Amanda Chapman:
You often emphasize accessibility. What does that mean in practical terms for someone starting with CapexVision AI?
Naheed Nenshi:
We intentionally kept the entry threshold relatively low — around $350 — so people could explore the system without significant financial pressure or complicated preparation.
Naheed Nenshi(adds):
From there, outcomes depend on market conditions and how the user approaches it, but based on feedback we’ve seen, in some cases people have reached $10,000 or more per month when the system is used consistently and thoughtfully.
